Power Automate Alerts

The Power BI template provides data visualization and scheduled reports but does not natively send real-time alerts when specific thresholds are crossed (for example, "alert me when malware is detected" or "alert me when denied requests exceed 10 in a day").

Threshold-based alerting can be layered on top of the Power BI integration using Microsoft Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow). Power Automate can monitor a Power BI dataset for specific data conditions and trigger actions such as sending an email, posting to a Microsoft Teams channel, or creating an ITSM ticket, when those conditions are met.

This is a Power Automate configuration task, not an Admin By Request configuration task. Refer to Microsoft's Power Automate documentation for guidance on creating data-driven alert flows against Power BI datasets.

Note: For real-time push notification of Admin By Request events (rather than dataset-based alerting on a refresh cycle), the Admin By Request Webhook push feature may be a better fit. Webhooks deliver event data to any HTTP endpoint the moment an event occurs, without waiting for a scheduled Power BI refresh.
