Introduction

Admin By Request offers a comprehensive Power BI template for customers who want in-depth insights into their Endpoint Privilege Management data, including elevation requests, device inventory, malware detections, approval activity, and system events. This manual provides a step-by-step guide on how to install and configure the template, and get the most out of Admin By Request with Power BI's data modeling and reporting capabilities.

The template connects directly to the Admin By Request REST API. No agent-side configuration is required; data from Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints is all pulled at the cloud level.

Assumptions

The tasks in this manual assume that you have access to your Admin By Request User Portal, have Power BI Desktop installed, and are familiar with the Power BI application and environment.

Prerequisites

To use the template, you need the following:

1. Admin By Request portal access. Your account must have permission to access the tenant settings, so you can generate or copy the API key.

2. API key. You can either use an existing key, or create a new one:

3. Power BI Desktop installed. Power BI Desktop is available as a free download from Microsoft.
